On See What We’ve Done (SWWD), two pillars of the West African sound, Mr Eazi and King Promise, come together in a vibrant celebration of past and present, memory and momentum. The project draws on a shared sense of history across generations, cultures, and experiences, capturing what happens when friendship, growth, and timing align naturally. With nine tracks, it sits between an album and an EP, while retaining the focus and cohesion of a carefully curated body of work. At the same time, it leaves room for individuality.

At its core, the project looks inward. “See What We’ve Done is a celebration of friendship, growth, and gratitude,” says Mr Eazi. For both artists, it marks a meaningful chapter. They have built distinct and successful paths, yet come together not out of strategy, but from a genuine love of each other’s music and a deep respect for their craft. The record feels organic and unforced, shaped by honesty, mutual admiration, and a clear sense of who they are today.

The journey opens with ‘Where Have You Been?’, before reaching an emotional high point in the second single, ‘That Way’, a striking generational bridge. Here, Mr Eazi and King Promise reimagine the millennial anthem ‘I Want It That Way’, filtering the nostalgia of the Backstreet Boys through their own voices and a contemporary African cadence. ‘Mariana’ follows, revisiting the warmth and ease that first defined their chemistry. Echoing earlier collaborations like ‘Call Waiting’ and ‘Dabebi’, the track leans on soft percussion, spacious production, and a slow-burning rhythm that feels both intimate and cinematic. Rooted in their evolving “lover-boy” era, it blends Afro-R&B with ambient textures while keeping the melodies simple and emotionally resonant. The result is the opening of a project that naturally feels effortless from the get-go, highlighting how naturally their distinct voices sit alongside each other.

‘Baby I’m Still Jealous’ playfully follows on from the pair’s 2020 hit, ‘Baby I’m Jealous’, and is joined by ‘Taste’, ‘Criminal’, ‘No.1 Fan’, and ‘Mad Ting’, before culminating in the title track, ‘See What We’ve Done’. It is a bold closing statement that leans into legacy and achievement, wrapped in lush Afrofusion rhythms. It is a moment where memory meets reinvention, instantly familiar yet unmistakably new.

There was no single defining spark behind the collaboration. Instead, the project reflects years of working together, shared experiences, and a long-held ambition to create a full body of work side by side. When the timing aligned, See What We’ve Done emerged as a cohesive reflection of that journey. Sonically, the project is sleek, intentional, and expansive, blending Afrobeats, pop, and melodic influences with quiet confidence. Production comes from an elite roster including GuiltyBeatz, Killbeatz, JAE5, Gideonite, AOD, and Tudor Monroë, resulting in a sound that honours where the artists have been, sits firmly in the present, and points toward where African music can go next.

See What We’ve Done as it stands, is more than just a joint effort. It is a statement of friendship, growth, and creative alignment, capturing two artists who are comfortable in their legacy, yet still curious and moving forward together.
